Prof. Tobias Winkler Appointed Treasurer of the European Hip Society

The Advanced Therapies in Orthopaedics Foundation (ATiO) is pleased to congratulate Prof. Tobias Winkler, Executive Board Chair of ATiO, on his appointment as Treasurer of the European Hip Society (EHS). The announcement was made in the society’s most recent newsletter following the successful EHS Congress in Thessaloniki.

The newly elected EHS Executive Committee is composed of:

• President Elect: Prof. Carsten Perka (Germany)
• Treasurer: Prof. Tobias Winkler (Germany)
• Secretary General: Prof. Stanislav Bondarenko (Ukraine)

The European Hip Society (EHS) is one of Europe’s leading specialty organisations dedicated to advancing excellence in hip surgery, research, and education. With its strong international membership and its role in shaping clinical quality standards, EHS plays a central part in strengthening collaboration across the orthopaedic community.

Prof. Winkler’s election to the Executive Committee reflects his longstanding scientific leadership in musculoskeletal regenerative medicine and trauma surgery, as well as his commitment to fostering translational progress across disciplines. His broader international contributions—as researcher, clinician, and coordinator of multiple European Horizon consortia—will continue to enrich both EHS and the wider orthopaedic field.

In his role at ATiO, Prof. Winkler has been instrumental in establishing a unique, cross-sectoral environment connecting world-leading clinicians, scientists, industry experts, investors, and regulatory specialists. His new responsibilities within EHS further strengthen the alignment of shared goals between both organisations: promoting excellence, advancing musculoskeletal innovation, and improving patient outcomes worldwide.
